I love interviews, but usually I’m the one who gives them. So this was a great surprise from neiradodhmiourgies who tagged me. It’s not a real tête-à-tête, but hey, better than nothing!
Here it goes:
- What are you wearing today? A breezy dress I got from my favorite Indian store in pink shades and turquoise.
- What’s for dinner? Good question.
- If you weren’t a human being, what would you like to be? The verb “to write”.
- What’s the last thing you bought? On Etsy: Matouenpeluche’s awesome drawings; outside of Etsy, some colorful sandals.
- What are you listening to right now? The sound of the fan whirring and street noises. I needed a dose of silence and this is as close as it gets.
- If you were a flower you would be…a pink rose, in all its triteness.
- What is your favorite ice-cream flavour? Just one?!
- What do you think of the person who tagged you? She’s a fairy at heart, and I hope I get to meet her soon!
- If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be? I would have to say rural France — I dream of an old cottage in the French countryside.

I'd gladly live here! (courtesy: Art & Decoration)
- If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? To Philly to surprise Gisela. She’d F-R-E-A-K!
- Which language do you want to learn? Spanish, if I ever find a goddamn tutor!
- What’s your favorite quote (for now)? Dreaming is believing.
- What is your favorite colour? I love all colors but pastel shades of pink and plum are yummy.
- What is your favorite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe? An aquamarine 20s inspired dress with lace.
- What is your dream job? To own an agrotourist hotel at a village somewhere and write in my free time.
- If you could invent any useful invention, what would it be? Something to allow teleporting — it would save everyone so much money!
- If you had £100 (165$) now, what would you spend it on? Enjoying my upcoming holidays to Berlin and Paris even more!
- Do you admire any one’s style? No one specifically, but I’m inspired by some.
- Describe your personal style? Shabby chic.
- What are you going to do after this? Seriously getting away from my computer!
- What are your favourite movies? Too many to list here. I’m a big fan of drama. Oh yeah.
- What’s your favorite fruit? Plums, nectarines, strawberries, all kinds of berries in fact…
- What inspires you? Books, conversations, people, nature, writing.
- Your favorite book? I love entirely too many, but two of my recent top faves were Ali Smith’s “Hotel World” and Markus Zusak’s “The Book Thief”.
- Do you collect something? Stickers, stationery sets, books, kinder surprise figurines (this was something my boyfriend started, actually).
- Are you a home body or do you prefer to be out? A little bit of both, just to keep the balance.
- Do you have any pets? If it were up to me, I’d have a zoo here.
- Are you a country girl or City Vamp? Country girl to the bone. That City Vamp allure has lost its charm.
- Tell us the story of your nickname. Originally inspired by Banana Yoshimoto. I read her book “Kitchen” and kept thinking how cool it is that her first name is Banana. Me, I’m just plain bananas. And the nickname was born!

How I became plain bananas
